Filmmaker & Creative Director
With over 20 years of content production experience, Emmy-Nominated Director Lis Bartlett is a passionate and creative storyteller dedicated to crafting compelling narratives from start to finish. Known for her extroverted nature, she excels in team-building and collaboration, consistently delivering results and nurturing strong and lasting relationships.
Her most authentic career self is often found at the intersection of storytelling and activism. She has long been driven by curiosity in life and in her career with the idea that everyone has a story. Her first feature documentary with a wide audience, "Light in the Water," tells the story of the first openly gay swim team, West Hollywood Aquatics. It premiered on Logo TV in July of 2018 and played in over thirty festivals and screenings across the world, including Palm Springs International Film Festival where it was voted "Best of Fest" by audiences, and was subsequently nominated for a Daytime Emmy. Over the last 15 years in Los Angeles she has been a part of numerous documentary projects, including Kobe Bryant’s Showtime documentary MUSE; as an editor for two episodes of “The Pitch” for Audience Network, and editing on numerous artist documentaries for Coachella. Most recently she worked for mobile game company N3twork, where she was brought on to help develop a live comedy show in the Tetris Mobile app, and then moved into Producing and Creative Directing the Marketing team. A lifelong swimmer, Lis is now raising two water babies with her husband in Los Angeles.
